Study Permit Proof of Funds Calculator

Estimate how much money you need to show for a Canadian study permit application — first-year tuition plus the living-cost minimum set by IRCC or by Quebec, adjusted for what you have already paid and for other one-time costs.

Before you begin: This calculator provides an estimate only, based on the information you enter, and does not constitute immigration advice. The living-cost figures are government minimums that change from time to time; the accuracy of your result depends entirely on the accuracy of your answers. High Summit Immigration Consultancy is not responsible for errors resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or misunderstood answers. For a full assessment, please book a consultation with our Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.

Financial capacity is only one part of a study permit application. Meeting the funds requirement is not a definitive factor for approval — an officer also assesses your study plan, your ties to your home country, your immigration and travel history, and whether you are a genuine student who will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay.

Living-cost minimums: IRCC — Proof of financial support (for provinces and territories other than Quebec), effective September 1, 2026; and the Quebec Ministry of Immigration — Costs related to studies, effective January 1, 2026. Verify the current figures on the official pages before you rely on this estimate.

Estimated funds you need to show
CA$0
This estimate = first-year tuition + the government living-cost minimum for your family size − the amount you have already paid + other expenses. Showing these funds does not guarantee approval. An officer weighs your finances together with your study plan, home-country ties, and overall circumstances.
